Holland Adult League Wednesday Night League Rules as of 1-26-10

1. This will be an intermediate/advanced league

2. All players must be 18 or older

3. Cost

a. $2375 per team

b. Must be paid in full before the start of teams 4^th game to the league President.

c. Each team must pay by check. There can be several checks but they must be turned in at the same time and in one envelope.

d. Failure to pay before the start of the 4^th game will result in forfeit of games and possible removal from the league

e. Any team who misses this deadline will need to pay in full prior to the next session.

4. Rosters

a. All teams must have a final roster to league President before the start of the 4^th game.

b. Only players on your roster will be eligible for your team except goalies.

c. All subs for your team must also be on this roster and can only play for your team.

d. A player cannot be on one teams roster and sub for another team

e. Each team must have 6 players and 1 goalie to play a game or a forfeit will be issued. They must be ready to play at the conclusion of the 3 minute warm up.

f. USA Hockey limits the number of players to 20 including goalies.

g. All players must turn in their USA Hockey paperwork before their first game to the rink office. This can be done online and a copy brought the office.

h. Players must have played in 5 games to be eligible for any playoff games. Goalies are exempt from this rule.

5. Game Start Times

a. If a team does not have the required 6 skaters and a goalie, both teams may stay and use the ice but the officials must leave the ice.

b. The Edge will not start games after 11:30pm. If for any reason this happens on a given week, the Edge will reschedule for a different time.

c. Any player entering the ice before the zamboni doors are shut will receive a penalty.

d. No pucks on the ice until the zamboni doors are shut.

e. Teams must provide their own pucks for warm-ups. Home team will provide for the game.

6. Penalties

a. USA Hockey rules will be used and they will be 3 minutes in length.

b. Players receiving 3 penalties in the same game will be removed from that game but will be eligible for the next game

c. Any player receiving their first game misconduct will sit out that game and the next game. Their second game misconduct, they will sit that game and 3 more games. Any player receiving 3 game misconducts is out for the remainder of the season.

d. A fighting penalty will be considered a game misconduct.

e. Any abuse of an official will result in a game misconduct.

7. Skill level

a. All levels of player are welcome

8. Alcohol

a. Any player under the influence during a game will be asked to leave the game.

b. Please take with you all cans that are brought into the building.

9. Facility

a. All teams must be out of the building 1 hour after the last game of the night

b. Any player that vandalizes the building or grounds can/will be reported to the authorities and must pay for repairs and clean up.

10. Rules of play

a. There will be a shoot out if a game ends in a tie. Winning team will receive 2 points while the losing team will receive 1.

b. Shoot out will be 3 man and then sudden death. No player may go twice until the entire team has gone once (excluding goalies). Home team will decide to shoot first or away team to shoot first

c. There will be three 17 minute periods of running clock. The clock will stop in the last 3 minutes of the 3^rd period if the goal differential is with in 3.
